Four miles of National Trust sand in Dorset's most protected bay — Studland offers some of the finest and most sheltered digging in southern England. The sand is fine, white by Dorset standards, and packs reliably well. The Old Harry Rocks end has rock pool areas while the main South and Middle Beach sections are classic flat sandy digging territory. The sheltered position means even on breezy days the beach is comfortable.
