Perhaps the most dramatic backdrop for a digging session in England — Bamburgh's vast flat sands with the castle looming on its basalt crag.
Perhaps the most dramatic backdrop for a digging session in England — Bamburgh's vast flat sands with the castle looming on its basalt crag. The sand is excellent: firm, clean, and very wide at low tide. The Farne Islands offshore add to the spectacle. This is beach digging at its most atmospheric. The sand quality and scale make it one of the finest digging beaches in the north of England, and the dramatic setting makes every sandcastle feel more heroic.
